Overview

Baker Mountain Guides Crevasse Rescue Course focuses on teaching fundamentals for a variety of crevasse rescue applications. Our one-day curriculum is designed for experienced climbers who want to add crevasse rescue to their repertoire of skills, or simply need a refresher. Concepts will be based on the latest techniques being used by professional guides, and include catching crevasse falls, fixed line ascension, mechanical advantage, and hauling.

Single Day
We’ll utilize the Mt. Baker Ski Area backcountry as our field venue and classroom. Instructors will demonstrate concepts of mechanical advantage and haul systems. Students will practice all aspects of crevasse rescue, as both rescuers and victims.
